Red Wing Shoes' sturdy soles, premium side leathers, triple stitching, and welt construction all work together to make boots that last a lifetime. It takes more than 230 steps to handcraft each pair of Red Wing Shoes; it only takes three easy steps to keep them looking good. Because we use different types of leather for our boots, there are different care products needed for each one.

Laces are an integral part of a Red Wing boot. They provide a characteristic touch to your favorite pair of Heritage shoes and are designed to be both durable and classic. Red Wing Shoes offers many different styles of lace that pair perfectly with your Heritage boots.

Oil tanned leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant. It provides exceptional durability and performance. You can
prevent leather deterioration by cleaning, conditioning and protecting the boots on a regular basis.
CLEAN: Always clean excess dirt from your footwear to prevent wear and drying. For general cleaning, use warm water,
a clean cloth and soft bristle brush. For more difficult areas, use Red Wing Shoes' Leather Cleaner with a clean cloth
and brush. Remove cleaner with damp cloth and allow to dry.
CONDITION: Proper conditioning helps preserve the finish and life of your footwear. Use Red Wing's All Natural Boot Oil,
Mink Oil, or All Natural Leather Conditioner. You can apply these conditioners with your fingers, soft cloth or sponge.
Below, you will find the recommended conditioner to use with each of our Red Wing leathers.
PROTECT: Add extra protection to preserve your footwear investment. Red Wing Leather Protector provides an invisible
shield from water, dirt, oil and mud.

Roughout is a reverse suede leather made in our tannery - S.B. Foot Tanning. Three of our leathers are "roughout"
leathers - Abilene, Mohave and Muleskinner. Most tanneries employ a process of splitting and thinning hides to create
the rough surface. Abilene uses unsplit, heavyweight leather with proprietary tanning processes that gives it a unique,
rough texture. Mohave is a premium waterproof, reverse suede leather used by the United States Military. Muleskinner
leather is burnished featuring visual texture and great appeal. Use Red Wing Shoe Nubuck/Suede Cleaner Kit for
Abilene, Mohave and Muleskinner leathers. DO NOT use leather cleaner for suede or roughout leathers as it can stain
and change the texture of the leather.
CLEAN: Lightly rub the edge of the Suede Bar over the soiled area. For deep stains and marks, apply more pressure. If
the stain or dirt still remains, wet both the Suede Bar and the stain with clean water and repeat rubbing action. Let dry,
then apply Suede Bar to remove water spots. Brush up nap with Suede Brush.
CONDITION: For Muleskinner leather apply Mink Oil. Abilene and Mohave leathers require no conditioner.
PROTECT: Add extra protection to preserve your footwear investment. Red Wing Leather Protector provides an invisible
shield from water, dirt, oil and mud. To extend the life of the boots, spray them with Red Wing Leather Protector before
wearing them for the first time.

Full finished leathers (Featherstone and Chaparral) have a smooth, polished surface that enhances the true beauty and
quality of the leather. Featherstone is Red Wing's premium leather used in our Beckman collection. By hand-selecting
only the finest hides, our master tanner produces leather that's not only beautiful but also abrasion resistant. Chaparral
is water, stain and perspiration resistant and can be polished to restore color and luster.
CLEAN: Always clean excess dirt from your footwear to prevent wear and drying. For general cleaning, use warm water, a
clean cloth and soft bristle brush. For more difficult areas, use Red Wing Shoes Leather Cleaner with a clean cloth and
brush. Remove cleaner with damp cloth and allow to dry.
CONDITION: Apply Red Wing Shoe Boot Cream with a clean, soft cloth. Shine the boot by brushing with a soft horse-hair
brush.
PROTECT: Add extra protection to preserve your footwear investment. Red Wing Leather Protector provides an invisible
shield from water, dirt, oil and mud.
